Wine Education – A Series Presented by Winemaker Tim Keith

Greetings!

First off I’d like to say that I’m very excited for the coming months and I think what we have planned to do is going to be fun, entertaining and educational.  Here’s the plan: Over the next several months we here at Selectwinesonline.com are going to be giving you an inside look at the entire winemaking process.  We’ll be out in the vineyards, in the winery, and tasting from the barrel so that we can show, teach, and answer any questions you might have regarding the entire winemaking experience from the grape to the bottle.

So who are we?

Well, Selectwinesonline.com is a small family run operation with roots in the Napa Valley that date back to the 60’s.  My name is Timothy Keith and I’ll be your cruise director on this trip.  I’m a graduate of the Viticulture and Enology program from the University of California in Davis.  I have winemaking experience from Napa to New Zealand, and a few places in between.  My father, Rick Keith, started this project just last year. I’ve joined him, and we’re going to make this as interactive as we can – just short of drinking the wine for you.

Our first video segment will feature one of the wines we offer on SelectWinesOnline.com, Grasso Vineyards. You’ll get your first chance to see an inside look at just a few of the demands grape growing presents.  With all of our episodes we encourage your participation, send us questions and we’ll answer them. If you have a particular aspect of the process you want to know more about and see first hand then send us along your ideas.  What is really going to make this work and be fun is if you participate.

The crux of this whole thing is to teach without being pretentious, and to get the inside look while presenting factual information in a user-friendly way.  All of the vineyards and wineries we visit will be available for you to purchase on our website.

Our Goal With Our Wine Education Series

We strongly believe that by teaching about the winemaking process, we’ll make it easier for you as a consumer to learn about and embrace these high-quality, hand-crafted boutique wines that are not as well known as the bigger, corporate winery products. By learning and understanding the art of making wines, you’ll feel connected to what you’re drinking, which will dramatically increase the pleasure of your wine exploration experience.

Feel free to send us your questions or suggestions; and if you have a winery or vineyard you’d like us to explore, by all means let us know!  Suffice to say I’m pretty excited for the next few months.

Cheers!!!
